Hi everyone, I said I would post at least once per week and I’m just making it by re-posting one of my old photos. Today’s posting is also special because July 24th is my cat’s birthday.

She doesn’t do much except sleep these days especially with the heat we’re experiencing. I think she may be going a little blind and also hard of hearing. Cinnamon has always been a nervous cat and would jump at the slightest noise but these days I practically have to be on top of her for Cinnamon to hear that I’m near.
She also can’t jump very high anymore so there is only one window that she can easily look out of.

As many of you know, I went looking for Spring the other day and I found some signs of it. Spring officially arrives today at 7:21 p.m. EDT. There is nothing bugging me today!

or not – How To Add Copyright To Photos

I know I usually write a Housekeeping post on Saturdays but this week I’ve chosen to do this instead which has been part of my blog Housekeeping over the past week. There is nothing bugging me today!
This information will probably be helpful to anyone taking part in the WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge.
How To Add Copyright To Photos Using Picasa
I don’t have Photoshop, so I’ve used Picasa to finally add the copyright symbol – © - to my photos.
It was actually quite easy.
Open Picasa
Select your photo
Select Text
Select the Font, Size, Style, Colour and add anywhere in the photo – don’t worry, the text can be moved if you don’t like the position.
Nothing is changed on your original photo until you click the Apply button and save the file.
When I saved my photos, I added the copyright symbol © to the file name using the keyboard shortcut Alt0169. This is an easy way to recognise which photos you’ve added the copyright to.
To insert the copyright symbol ©, hold down the Alt key and type 0169 on the numeric pad on your keyboard. For those who have a laptop without a separate numeric keypad, hold down both Alt and the Fn keys to activate the numeric pad on the keyboard. Look for the small blue numbers.
You can also insert the copyright symbol using the Custom Character button 
in the Visual post editor but you have to make sure you are showing what WordPress calls the Kitchen Sink.
The Kitchen Sink button is the last one in the row. 
It’s really not that complicated to add the copyright, just remember to save your photo with a different name so that the original isn’t changed.

I’m getting out of my writing slump but I couldn’t resist going out to see if I could find some signs of Spring in the neighbourhood. And I did! There is nothing bugging me today!
In keeping with the yellow flowers I posted yesterday I even managed to find a couple of yellow Crocus poking up out of the ground.

Seeing as I was interviewed for the first time this week by Piglet in Portugal, I thought I would recognize some of my Blogging Buddies who have either been interviewed or featured bloggers since the WordPress Challenge started. There is nothing bugging me today!
Hugmamma published an interview with Piglet In Portugal who was my first Blogging Buddy in the WordPress Challenge. She has been a great buddy offering me the support and encouragement I needed to get through some difficult times.

The Home I Left at 18
This is the home where I grew up with my parents, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters. I have very fond memories of growing up in what is known as ‘Little Italy’ in Toronto. Everything was within walking distance – school, church, shopping, parks. When it wasn’t we would jump on to the TTC’s Red Rocket and it could take us just about anywhere we wanted to go in the city. My brother and I would often take it to High Park to spend the day.

Not Knowing How To Use Twitter Properly
How do I use it?
I joined Twitter recently so I’m not exactly well versed on how to use it properly. This is what’s bugging me today!
And if I want to get the most of what Twitter has to offer I figured I should probably start doing some more reading on it.
As a matter of fact, I don’t know the ins and outs of Facebook either but since it seems that Twitter is easier to use I decided to tackle this one first and leave Facebook for another day.
When I first joined Twitter I did a search on how to use it and this is one of the first things I found and checked out. It’s cute and done with humour. This is their take on these two social networks.

Twitter Vs. Facebook
Twitter is different from Facebook because it has an opt-in take on friending vs. an opt-out like Facebook. If you accept a friend request on Facebook, you automatically “follow” each other (Facebook does not use “following” but has a newsfeed that is quite similar to twitter). This means that if you have 200 Facebook friends, you can potentially see 200 people’s news in your feed …
On twitter, you can be followed by 2,000 people but only see 50 people in your feed—50 people you CHOSE to follow. The main difference between the two is that Twitter is much more simplified. There is a character limit to posts, there are no picture or video libraries, and no complicated profiles, relationship statuses, etc.
Now she just said there are no picture or video libraries but I remember my daughter mentioning how she uses TwitPic to post photos. I guess that’s something else that needs to get checked out.
I was thinking about adding a poll today but I’m finding that a lot of bloggers don’t like answering polls, but will answer questions in the comments. So that’s what I’m doing today!
I have a couple of questions about using Twitter and I want to know what you do and how you handle certain situations because I’m definitely the Twitter newbie on this one.
Some people say that you should reply and acknowledge the people who follow you but then others say it’s not necessary to reply.
What do you do?
Do you reply to everyone who follows you or just the ones you know personally?
Another thing I’m not sure about is this entire following bit. I know it’s all the craze about how many you have following you but what’s the deal with that?
Do you automatically follow everyone that follows you
or just the people you know or think might be interesting to follow?
Do you expect others to follow you back?
Does anyone really have the time to read all the tweets?
